Battlefield Chamber of CommerceMinutes of MeetingsFriday, April 3, 2009 Noon Call to Order: Meeting was called to order by Treasurer, Becky Wright at 12:01 p.m. Board Members in attendance Vicki Hutcheson, Keri Robinson, Kathryn Wyatt, Dan Watson. Members and guests: Rick Hess and David Vallely Approval of Minutes: Minutes were read. Keri made a motion to approve minutes as submitted, Becky seconded motion. Motion carried. Approval of Treasurer’s Report: February’s bank statement shows an ending balance of $4404.91, deposits of $340.00 individual membership $40.00(Vicki Hutcheson), Business memberships $300.00 (Empire Bank, B&K Fireplaces, Marlene Feisthamel) expenditures of $34.34 (Visa-credit card bill).  The ending balance for March’s statement is $4710.57. Keri made a motion to accept the Treasurer’s Report, Kathryn seconded, motion passed.  Committee Reports: Membership: Membership renewals for 2009 have been sent, Keri suggested we start contacting those who have not sent in their renewal in the middle of April. Technology: Dan provided the monthly history of the website 173 unique visitors, 12,996 hits for March.  Old Business: Farmer’s Market:   Becky gave a report provided by Paula about the progress for the Farmer’s Market. There will be a ribbon cutting at 5:30 p.m.,  May 1, 2009 for the first Market Day. Funds to pay the market manager have been allocated as part of the seed money provided by the City of Battlefield. She will be paid $100.00 per market, to be billed by her company,    Bids for signs have been obtained, the lowest bid was $1080 from Carter Creative Group. Keri made a motion to accept the bid, Kathryn seconded motion passed. Business Development: Rick Hess discussed the progress of Price Cutter grocery store locating in Battlefield, including work with MoDOT to improve infrastructure at the intersection of Republic Road and FF. City Wide Garage Sale: Portable toilets and a hand washing station for the City Wide Garage Sale, May 8-9 are available for $120 from Steele, a location on the NW corner of Hwy FF and Weaver is available. Keri made a motion we provide the service as described, Kathryn seconded, motion passed. Maps will be made available. The cost to have a garage sale placed on the map is $5.00. Dan said he could put the map on the website .  New Business: Rick Hess briefly introduced a proposal by Gardner and Associates to locate Section 42 apartment units on a commercial tract at Hwy FF and Farm Road 123. Persons scheduled to present the concept to the Chamber were supposed to attend today’s meeting, but were not present.  Next meeting will be at noon, May 1, 2009. Bring a brown bag lunch. Adjournment: Vicki made a motion to adjourn at 12:45 p.m., Keri seconded.
