Meeting was called to order by President, Randy Fry. Those attending: Randy Fry, Paula Carter, Gene Blakey, Delores Miller, Rick Hess, Dan Watson, Brenna Davis, Becky Wright, Bryan Morris, Keri Robinson, David The 2008 Board Officers were honored with a plaque followed by the installation of the 2009 board members. Bryan made a motion to approve, Keri second, approved. Approval of Minutes: Correction – Dan’s last name is Watson. Bryan made a motion to approve, Becky second, approved. Treasurer’s Report: The National Kidney Foundation’s membership was approved. The Methodist Church is awaiting an invoice for their $100 ad in the membership directory. The phone/web-site charges will now be automatically deducted. Becky is checking on the Visa limit. Plaques for past board officers were $210. The 2009 membership invoices have not been sent so no dues have been paid for 2009, the secretary will be responsible for sending the invoices. Bryan made a motion to approve the report, Randy second, approved. Old Business: The 2008 membership directories were mailed to 2,300 homes. A total of 3,000 were ordered. 300-400 will be allocated for the new residents packets. Paula suggested that businesses be added to the list next year and inquired about the Business city list and the status of it being updated by the city. All mail will go to Marlene’s office. Farmer’s Market: Paula officially registered the name of “Wilson’s Creek Farmers Market”. An application has been made for a $5,000 grant from MO agriculture. The date a decision will be made on the funding is unknown. Farmer’s Market funds will be run through the Chamber accounting. If someone knows of a potential Market Manager contact Paula. Research is being done on a MO Arts Council grant for a children’s activity involving folklore or classical music. Bryan said he has a contact who is a Free Masonry who could possibly do fingerprinting. New Business: As a result of the audit, we now have a post office box: P.O. Box 485, Brookline Station, MO 65619-0485. The address should be updated on the letterhead and web-site. Web-Site reconstruction is being performed pro-bono by Dan Watson. The board previewed the future site. The new site will allow for advertising revenue, e-mail communication and will be up in a few weeks. Dan is not charging the Chamber a monthly hosting fee. Paula called a meeting for 2009 planning on Thursday, January 16th, 6:30 at City Hall. Rick reported he is still working with 2 potential grocery stores to come to Battlefield. A recent study determined that the size of Battlefield will only support one grocery store. Rick reported there is a countrywide hold on new post offices therefore Battlefield will not be receiving one. He is looking into the potential to change the name of the one currently utilized from Brookline Station to Battlefield. Meeting adjourned at 1:00 pm.
