Old Business: HEALTH FAIR– Due to the lack of participants this event has been cancelled. CITY WIDE GARAGE SALE– Only 8 people have signed up. Marlene moved, seconded by Brenna, that we change the date to May 9 & 10. All in favor. Delores stated that she has reserved 3 "Chamber pots" and 1 washing station for 2 days at the cost of $160. Kudos to Delores for this good deal. Rick handed out information on community advertising through KY3, both on line and their community calendar. It was also noted that maybe an ad should be put in the Republic Monitor and Springfield Library website. Both before and for the event. Marlene will check with Cody’s to verify placement of the "Chamber Pots" and donation of coffee. She contacted Krispy Kreme and for $75 we can get 25 dozen, her business will donate these. The coffee and donuts will be for sale to the public at the "Chamber Pot" location. Rick will have the city hall girls call the remaining 7 people to notify them of the date change. Brenna will contact Godfather’s and Steve to change their signs and David will change the information on the website. JULY 4- Randy stated that he cannot find a place to get a cannon. Judy stated that the Park Board will take care of getting a Hummer or Blackhawk or similar item for the event. Paula will work at getting the novelties and water. MEMBERSHIP DRIVE– Not much progress here. A new computer business that is going in near Andrea’s might be interested. Delores stated that WCA Trash Service was interested but wanted to know what the charge would be for the remainder of the year and if a deal could be worked out for 2009. After some discussion Marlene moved, seconded by Brenna, that we delete the 51+ category and change to 26 and above to $325. All in favor. MIXER– Randy stated that 12 were in attendance at the March mixer. American Detection Services will host the April mixer on the 17th at 8:30am in the Community Room. Breakfast will be served. Cost is $8. Remember to bring something about your business. Future events such as ice cream social or hot dog roast were suggested..

New Business: BOARD MEETING– After some discussion it was decided that the May meeting will be held on Thursday, May 1, at NOON, somewhere in the City Hall building. We will see if this works better.
Misc: PAULA– Paula stated that very preliminary discussions are being held about Drury holding classes in Battlefield. Paula also stated that she would be willing to represent the Chamber on the Farmers Market Committee. RICK– Rick stated that a tech support business is hoping to open my mid-April. A ground breaking ceremony should be held sometime in April for the convenience/McDonald’s store. A good showing of Chamber members will be greatly appreciated. More info on this when available.
