American Detection Specialists was started in July of 1989 by Jim L. Morris. Coming
from a background in law enforcement and electronic security sales, Jim felt he could
do business in a way that would be more professional and ethical than what was
being offered to southwest Missouri at the time. This philosophy, in combination with
the opportunity to utilize the emerging technology of wireless security and fire
detection sensors, is still at the heart of the company today.

The primary products and services offered are: intrusion and fire detection in
residential, commercial, and industrial applications, video surveillance systems, and
access control/gate control. In addition to that, the company engages in security
consulting and public speaking & education.
