The Battlefield Chamber of Commerce hosted a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for American Family Insurance, Ben Howard Agent on April 14. The ceremony started with a brief welcome from the Battlefield Chamber of Commerce President, Becky Wright. Aaron Kruse, the newly elected Mayor of Battlefield also welcomed Ben to the city. Business growth in Battlefield has seen a steady increase despite the economic climate.
The Battlefield Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to promoting and stimulating economic development to advance the general welfare and prosperity of the Battlefield area so the citizens and all areas of the business community prosper.
“We are excited to welcome Ben and American Family Insurance into our community and look forward to working with him as a member of the Chamber in the years come!,” said Becky Wright, Battlefield Chamber of Commerce President.

A ground breaking on two fronts.
Battlefield, Missouri today celebrated a double ground breaking. One was physical, one was for the dawn of a new round of economic development for the city.
At the northwest corner of FF Highway (West Bypass) and Republic Road (M Highway), the ground breaking ceremony today began the construction of the new Wilson Creek Marketplace. This thirty-two acre shopping center will be anchored by a 50,000 square foot Price Cutter Plus grocery store.

Tower Drive, Battlefield, MO. 65619 The Battle of Wilson's Creek, fought on August 10, 1861, was the second major battle of the Civil War and the first major Civil War battle fought west of the Mississippi River. It took place near the city of Battlefield on land that is now the Wilson's Creek National Battlefield. In remembrance of this important event in Southwest Missouri history, the Wilson's Creek Farmers Market and the City of Battlefield are pleased to have the 3rd Missouri Cavalry Regiment (Dismounted) at the Battlefield City Park to portray life in a Civil War camp.
